Porsche wants you to know it sponsors the Porsche Grand Prix

Porsche likes to remind fans that it's the title sponsor of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany, by keeping a 2012 Boxster on display during each match on center court. Eventually, the car will be given to the winner of the event, who will then pose for awkward pictures with it while trying not to get flowers on the leather seats.

Is it just me or is that car a little creepy? I've seen "Transformers" and "Cars" enough times to know that anthropomorphic features of vehicles aren't always coincidental. Look at it. It's just sitting there watching, waiting, biding its time. For what, you ask? To Taser Ivan Lendl, apparently:

More sponsors should use the Porsche model and display their products at court-side. Imagine what we could see at various tournaments:

Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championship Open -- Mini bottles of Kahlua, Ray-Bans and bottles of Polo Sport

Western and Southern Open -- New Mexico

Rogers Cup -- Federer, Clemens, Moore and Sterling

Power Horse World Team Cup -- Secretariat's ashes

Valencia Open -- Florida oranges

Kremlin Cup -- Replica of Lenin's Tomb and original 45 of The Beatles "Back in the U.S.S.R."

Qatar Ladies Open -- Qatar ladies, of course

As much as I kid about it, the gimmick works. After some deep contemplation, I've now decided that I would like a Porsche. Behold the power of advertising.
