Here's something that will warm the cockles of your heart. During Spain's World Cup victory parade in Madrid last summer, a little girl named Alleke was very excited to see her favorite player, Xavi. But when Xavi and the rest of the team rode by on their open-top bus without stopping to talk to her, those smiles turn to tears and young Alleke ended up going home disappointed.
Of course, her parents were recording the whole thing and posted the "Where's Xavi?" incident on YouTube, where it became a viral hit and got the attention of Catalonia's TV3. Arrangements were made and on Monday night, at the Catalonian Sports Awards, Alleke got the chance to meet Xavi in a special segment. After showing Xavi's reaction to the video, a shy Alleke was presented with a Barcelona shirt with her name on the back, which Xavi signed for her.
Then, she got to go up on stage and give her favorite player a hug and a kiss in what was clearly an overwhelming moment for her. She found Xavi.
Above all, it's interesting that Xavi, of all the Spanish players, is her favorite. Even at such a young age, she must really appreciate fantastic passing. Or maybe she thinks he's one of Santa's elves.
The original video that brought Alleke and Xavi together is right this way...
