(Warning: This is gross.)
Monday's 2. Bundesliga match between Union Berlin and Bochum took a horrific turn shortly after halftime when Macchambes Younga-Mouhani and Matias Concha both went for a loose ball near the halfway line. Coming form opposite directions, Concha decided to slide in for the ball, while Younga-Mouhani came stomping in, stepping over the ball and on top of Concha's incoming leg. Crunch.
Concha's leg snapped, leaving him with season-ending fractures of both the tibia and fibula. After Younga-Mouhani got up from an emphatic tumble of his own, he was not booked. Bochum went on to win 1-0. According to Bild, Bochum's goalkeeping coach unleashed a verbal smackdown on Younga-Mouhani that required police intervention before boarding the bus back home.
Hopefully Concha can make a speedy recovery.
