These guys spent 50,000 to create ?brash? Man City car

A couple of business partners have dumped 50,000 into a 1975 Chevy convertible they imported from North Carolina to turn it into the ultimate Man City mobile.

The front hood features a giant MCFC crest, while the two sides depict City stars past and present -- Colin Bell, Franny Lee and Mike Summerbee alongside the old Maine Road ground on one side and Nigel De Jong, David Silva and Carlos Tevez with Eastlands on the other. The interior is all done is Man City colors, as well, with crests all over the seats and doors. The back of the car has a match scene on the trunk and, the greatest touch of all, Sheikh Mansour's face on the spare tire.

From the Manchester Evening News:

Mike, 60, said: "Shaun wanted a big and brash car to go to matches in. We found this one but then it snowballed."

The pair paid 15,000 to the car's North Carolina owner and a further 5,000 to bring it across the Atlantic.

They then had to find restorers who would turn it into the Blues cruiser ? and found an army of United fans to do the work. Mike said: "We had to tell Tom Jones, a United fan from Oldham who has done art work on cars for us before, 'don't you dare put a Red Devil on it'. [...]

"When it was finished we went over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure they hadn't hidden any United stuff in it.

The car was originally orange and white. Once it was finished, the pair say they didn't take it to Wembley for City's FA Cup final in May because it only gets 10 miles to the gallon. A sound investment, indeed.
