Video: Sabres' Nathan Gerbe needs just five seconds to score pair

With the Buffalo Sabres down 4-0 to the New York Islanders late in the third period, Nathan Gerbe decided to make things interesting in the final few minutes with a historic pair of goals to cut the lead in half:

What a beauty of a rush on that first tally.

The pair of goals in five seconds set a Sabres franchise record and tied Pete Mahovlich (1971), but both are behind Nels Stewart (1931) and Deron Quint (1995) who each scored twice in just four seconds.

Michael Grabner would score his second of the night via an empty net as the Islanders went on to beat Buffalo 5-2.

Is Stewart's and Quint's record of two goals in four seconds one of those untouchable records that may never been broken?
