Edge Retains World Heavyweight Title At Elimination Chamber, And Will Defend Against Alberto Del Rio At Wrestlemania XXVII
WWE's Elimination Chamber show got underway in grand fashion with two really good matches. The first was a good opener between Alberto Del Rio, the Royal Rumble winner, against Kofi Kingston, the Intercontinental Champion.
There were a lot of nearfalls, and the crowd was really into the match and Del Rio. He got a victory with the armbar. The match was given a lot of time, and the two worked really well together.
The Smackdown Chamber match was on second, and it was a great match. Edge pinned Rey Mysterio to retain the World Heavyweight title, and set up the match with Del Rio at Wrestlemania.
Edge hit a spear on Mysterio, who was coming off the top rope trying to hit a cross body. It was a great ending to a fantastic match. Everyone was really on top of their game in the match, even Drew McIntyre, it was a treat to watch.
Now, Del Rio gets a chance to fulfill his "destiny," by defeating Edge at the biggest wrestling event of the year, Wrestlemania, on April 3rd.
