Mayweather arrested for security guard poking incident

Floyd Mayweather Jr. avoided the clutches of Las Vegas Metro Police until Thursday night. "Money" was hanging out at a Las Vegas strip casino where he was arrested and charged with battery in connection to a confrontation that went down last month. From the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

The misdemeanor charge stems from allegations he repeatedly poked a Southern Highlands security officer in the face following a Nov. 15 confrontation over a parking citation.

Mayweather was held at Clark County Detention Center until 10:53 a.m., when he was released on his own recognizance.

Mayweather was accused of the bizarre incident near his home in southern Las Vegas.

According to court documents, Las Vegas police said security guard Shayne Smith cited two of Mayweather's vehicles for parking violations at Southern Highlands. A confrontation ensued, and the boxer allegedly was verbally abusive and jabbed his finger into Smith's cheek. Smith had redness and discoloration on the left side of his face after the incident.

This comes just a few months after an embarrassing incident involving his former girlfriend and three kids. The world's No. 2 pound-for-pound boxer according to Yahoo! Sports, is due in court in January on multiple felony charges.

A Las Vegas judge issued the most recent arrest warrant Thursday night. Mayweather is a pretty easy guy to find. He's a high-profile guy who likes to gamble and spends time in public all over Las Vegas.

Last week, he was rumored to have won $300,000 when he bet the Atlanta Falcons minus seven over the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons cruised 31-10.
