San Antonio had the chance for homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs on Wednesday, but a loss to Phoenix handed that honor to the Chicago Bulls.
Nevertheless, the Spurs open the playoffs as the Western Conference's No. 1 seed and face the Memphis Grizzles in Round One.
The Grizzlies tanked their way into the eighth seed in the closing days of the season with the hopes of avoiding a date with the LA Lakers, but the matchup against San Antonio doesn't favor them much better.
For the Spurs, the question isn't whether or not they'll get past round one, but rather what kind of shape they'll be in for a likely Second Round series against Oklahoma City.
Manu Ginobili is banged up and while the Spurs aren't perceived to be quite as old as they've been in recent years, there's still legitimate doubts this team can compete against the young guns in the West.
