Floating face down in last place of Champions League group E and having recently sacked their manager for a plexiglass-destroying freakout, things haven't been going Cluj's way of late. And though they won their Romanian Liga 1 match against Universitatea Craiova last Friday, it was Craiova's only goal that proved to be the gem of the match.
Dorel Stoica took Cluj by surprise, breaking the scoreless deadlock in the 66th minute by blasting an audacious free kick into the top corner from 40 meters out. This required an impressive level of confidence to even attempt and probably built even more confidence with its perfect execution. And then Cluj scored twice to win the match. If only football had a three-point line.
