NFL Draft 2011: Detroit Lions Select Da'Quan Bowers 13th Overall

Da?Quan Bowers was once regarded as the strongest defensive pass rusher in the entire draft class before corners of his surgically repaired knee decreased his draft stock and caused him to fall out of the top 10. Luckily for Bowers, the Detroit Lions were reportedly impressed with his recovery and ability and look to be a lock to select him at number 13.

Bowers was once mocked to go to the Cleveland Browns at sixth overall before his injury concerns surfaced. That type of draft hype means that he has the skills needed to produce at the next level. If healthy, Bowers could easily become one of the best pass rushers in the entire NFC if not the entire NFL.

Bowers recorded 20 sacks in three seasons with Clemson including his 2010 campaign where he got to opposing quarterbacks on 16 occasions. Bowers also recorded 150 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception as one of the most anticipated prospects in Clemson?s history.
