College Football Predictions 2011: Will Oklahoma State Light Up the Big 12?

The Oklahoma State Cowboys Will Be an Offensive Juggernaut in the Big 12

Everybody is already penciling in the Oklahoma Sooners as the favorites to win next seasons National Championship?on top of another Big 12 Championship.

Sure they have a ton of returning talent and a great coach?but don't sleep on the Cowboys of Oklahoma St.

The vast majority of one of the most explosive offenses in 2010 is back and ready to roll.

Tim Hyland of about.com thinks there is a lot to like about the 2011 version of the Cowboys:

"Though the defensive front seven needs to be almost completely rebuilt, a ridiculously talented offense figures to keep the Cowboys in the game against anybody--including the powerful Sooners. The Cowboys averaged more than 44 points per game in 2010, third-best in the nation, and here's the scary thing for Big 12 defenses: Ten starters are back. That includes quarterback Brandon Weeden and otherworldly wideout Justin Blackmon. So yeah, this team is going to score some points."

Beware of Justin Blackmon.

The soon-to-be senior receiver put up a video game had 1782 receiving yards and 20 TDs in 13 games!

That is unbelievable and it's a small miracle that he is coming back to Stillwater.

But he is and new offensive coordinator Todd Monke has to be thrilled to get the keys to such an explosive offense.

Like Hyland mentioned earlier, concerns about the front-seven on defense are real. Only two starters from that group will be back on a team that surrounded 26 points a contest.

This is the single biggest questions surrounding Ok. St.

Offensively the Cowboys are the front-runners for best offense in the nation going into the 2011 season. If the defensive can hold it's own and create turnovers....watch out Sooners.
