2011 NFL Mock Draft: Washington Redskins Make Jake Locker QB of Future

2011 NFL Mock Draft Tabs Jake Locker as New Quarterback For Washington Redskins

I have maintained my belief in Jake Locker as a top-20 talent as season long, but have yet to commit on a draft position for him.

Well, I am not completely committing to the Redskins just yet, but I do not think he is going to escape the top 17 picks.

Washington has major needs at quarterback and wide receiver, but without a quarterback their new receiver would be in trouble.

This pick comes down to Jake Locker or Julio Jones, and I think there is a lot to make of this decision.

For a look at one of B/R's big boards be sure to check out: Top 20 Players.

I do not think there is a coach in this league that does not see the bright side of Jake Locker, but I do feel there is only a few that are willing and capable of taking on the task of grooming the raw talent.

Mike Shanahan of the Washington Redskins could very well be that man.

He has the ego, and the ability, to draft Jake Locker and make him his own.

It will not be easy, but I think the reward will be worth the risk, and the work.

The quarterback position is more than just sheer physicality, its more than just brains, it is a combination of things, and when all is said and done I truly believe Jake Locker has what it takes to succeed in this league.
