What better way to prepare for the possibility* of having to watch Friday's much-anticipated semifinal between Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal than by watching a reenactment of Murray's between-the-legs drop shot using strings? This is a trick question. There is no better way.
* NBC will begin the Murray-Nadal match live on Friday at noon in all time zones. If the match has started before then, the only place to see the match live will be on NBCSports.com, which will join the match at noon ET when its broadcast window begins. What does this mean for you and television watching?
East Coast viewers: The first match begins at 8:15 a.m. ET. Pray that it doesn't end in straight sets and that there are a couple of epic, lengthy games thrown in there. Djokovic took 3 hours, 15 minutes to beat Marcos Baghdatis in four sets last week so that's a good baseline. Straight sets are the live viewer's enemy. The longer the better.
Central viewers: Root for a five-setter between Djokovic and Tsonga, though even that may not be enough to help. Tsonga went the full five with Federer and took less time than Djokovic-Baghdatis. Of course, that match didn't have Djokovic endlessly bouncing balls before serving. Plan on watching the match online.
Western viewers: You're definitely out of luck for TV unless there's a big rain delay and the roof gets stuck for three hours. Make sure your Internet connection is solid.
NBC executives: Angry emails and calls, as per usual for this time of year.
