You know that old saying, "it was a moral victory"? Maybe the OneAsia golf tour should adopt that asits new motto after last weekend's Charity High-1 Resort Open.
Why? Because every single person walked away a winner! Yes, all 153participants landed a check for $3,268 because of torrential downpours at the Korean golf event.
"Unfortunately because of the weather we have encountered over the four days this week we have made the decision not only to cancel the second round on Sunday, but also to cancel the event," OneAsia CEO Ben Sellinger said in a statement.
"Because it is evident that we are not going to get through 36 holes, the action has been taken after consultation with the sponsor."
The bad news for the golf event is it had to pay out all that money, but the good news (and bad news for the players) is they only got half of the purse.
The big loser in all of this? Min-chang Lee, who had a two-shot lead after the first round which he opened with a nice 64. The big winner? Xiongyi Zhao, who had a 12-over 84 to open, but received the same amount of dough as Lee.
