Final Four 2011: Kemba Walker Continues to Boost NBA Draft Stock

Final Four 2011 Gives Kemba Walker a Chance to Improve His Draft Stock

At the start of the season, heck even half way through the season, Kemba Walker was fighting to be a first round pick. However after leading the Huskies to a Big East Tournament win and a Final Four berth Walker is making a case to be the first point guard taken in the draft.

Against Arizona the junior showed that he doesn?t have to dominate a game to put his stamp on it. He did have 20 points in the game but he struggled in the second half and he wasn?t the guy that really won the game for the Huskies despite hitting the shot that gave them a two-point win.

Honestly I would really consider picking Walker with my first round pick. It is an extremely shallow draft class this year and Walker is one of the few guys that could be considered as close to a sure thing as possible.

I understand that he is a streaky shooter and he tends to look for his shot more than he distributes the ball. However in a guard dominated league Walker could be very successful.

Walker also is a natural born leader that could be a great NBA player if he lands in the right spot.
