Rafael Nadal has come a long way from sleeveless shirts and capris.
The world No. 1 recently signed to be the new face of Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans and made his commercial debut this week for the Italian clothier. As you'd expect, the clip is heavy on the abs and distant staring and light on actual shots of denim. There's also a lot of water involved. Like, a lot.
I'm a little disappointed Nadal didn't have a cheesy catchphrase at the end of the commercial like Andre Agassi's "image isn't everything" or whatever Elizabeth Taylor said at the end of that White Diamonds ad. There was ample opportunity for him to whisper something like "Armani. Vamos."
Nadal had already appeared in some print ads for the company, mimicking poses by another Armani endorser, Megan Fox.
