When the man pictured above had his 2009/10 Borussia Dortmund shirt personalized with the word "Meister" (Champion) on the back, he was putting himself on the line. If his club didn't win the Bundesliga, his investment would seem to be a mistake, his wife would leave him and people would laugh at him on a daily basis. And when Dortmund finished fifth last season, all of that probably happened.
But this season, it's been a different story. Dominating the league with a comfortable 15-point lead, this man now smiles as he proudly shows off his shirt that proclaims the inevitable in front of the cameras. Meanwhile, other fans wearing the current shirt point and smirk, "Hey, look at this guy in the old shirt."
