As tough as 2010 was for the Angels, the last thing they need is a letdown before the 2011 season gets going. The possibility is there, though, as Kendry Morales said Monday in his first meeting with the media this spring that he might not be completely healthy in time for Opening Day.
The slugging first baseman suffered one of the most devastating freak injuries in memory last May 29 when he broke his left leg while jumping onto home plate to celebrate a game-winning grand slam. He still has a pin and six screws just above his left ankle, as the Los Angeles Times notes, and the remnants of the injury remain.
